Robin signed her first record deal in 2000 with Sony/Columbia Records. During that time, Sony signed several Texas artists including label mates Jack Ingram, Daryl Dodd, and Charlie Robison. Sony was so impressed with Robin's production style, they asked her to coproduce an album with several acclaimed producers.

During the following year, she recorded with Paul Worley, Kyle Lehning, George Massenburg, and Kim McLean. Her single, "Girl In Love" came out just three weeks before the tragic events of September 11, 2001. Despite the confusion of a nation in mourning and a label in disarray, "Girl In Love" was on GAC's Top Ten videos and was on Billboard's Top Single Sales for more than 8 months. After 5 downsizes at Sony which ultimately ended in a complete regime change, Robin asked to be released. She used this time to work on new music and bolster her efforts with her band.

Since then, she had the great honor of entertaining our troops and has opened for many headliners including Clint Black, Hal Ketchum, Roger Creager, Will Hoge, Brad Paisley, Joe Diffee, Mark Chesnutt, and Willie Nelson. She also continued to write and perform on albums for great artists such as Reckless Kelly, Joe Diffee, Bob Wills (tribute), and Gene Autrey (harmonica credit for tribute with T. Graham Brown, Marty Stewart, and others).
